Opened in 1988, this raised park which takes its direct inspiration for New York’s Highline, le Promenade Plantée is a five-kilometre walkway that guides you from viaduct to footbridge, from tunnel to trench, through the East of Paris.

The sometimes in the air, sometimes underground gardens extend from Bastille to the Bois de Vincennes and beyond into the woodlands, should you wish.

This is one of Paris’ most underrated outdoor spaces that gives you a rare and up close viewpoint of the buzzing boulevards below. The Promenade is also perfect for one’s inner voyeur: certain raised platforms provide excellent views into the sprawling Haussmannian apartments that flank the Promenade.

Although Parisian in feel, it’s all Danish with its sense of time and space.

Interiors are bespoke yet eclectic mix of modern, classic, vintage and new that instantly feel welcoming.

On the ground floor there is a café come wine bar, Coco Bar à Vin that leads to the leafy green courtyard where some of the 88 rooms look over.

Coco Hotel is centrally located in the heart of Vesterbro making it a great place from which to explore. Take one of the hotel bikes for hire and ride like a local.
